League of Legends: Shopify Rebellion is set to part ways with head coach Seong Sang-hyeon (ID: Reven)..

Sheep Esports exclusively reported on Tuesday that the Canadian organization Shopify Rebellion is set to part ways with the head coach of its League of Legends division, Seong Sang-hyeon (ID: Reven).

According to the report, this decision is tied to the organization's plans for a complete roster overhaul, bringing an end to Reven’s three-year tenure with Shopify Rebellion.

Looking back at Reven's career, the South Korean coach joined Shopify Rebellion at the very inception of the team's entry into the LCS and has remained with the organization for the past three years.

Throughout this tenure, Reven served as the primary figurehead for Shopify Rebellion’s League of Legends program.

The organization previously secured its spot in the LCS for the 2024 season by acquiring TSM’s LCS franchise slot for $10 million.

Since then, Reven has been responsible for both coaching the players and assembling the roster.

His departure follows another significant personnel change earlier this season, when Shopify Rebellion appointed David Han, who previously held the same role at Cloud9, as General Manager.

Looking ahead to next year, Shopify Rebellion is expected to bring in a new head coach and make adjustments to its player roster.

The team’s rookie mid-laner, Yoo Baek-jin (ID: Zinie), has drawn interest from other organizations, though the possibility of him remaining with the team still exists.

According to sources, Shopify Rebellion held discussions with former G2 head coach Dylan Falco regarding a potential signing; however, it appears the organization is still exploring other coaching candidates.

During Reven’s tenure, Shopify Rebellion generally performed as a mid-tier team, occasionally showing flashes of stronger form.

Their best performance came during the second and third stages of the 2025 LTA North season, where they defied expectations to secure a third-place finish.

They subsequently qualified for the 2025 LTA Finals, but ultimately suffered a 2-3 upset defeat at the hands of RED Canids.

Similarly, the team fought their way through the lower bracket of the 2026 LCS Summer Playoffs, only to fall just short against Lyon, missing out on the final spot for the 2026 World Championship.

In the inaugural Demacia Cup Global Invitational, the team was one of only two squads to finish the Swiss stage with a 0–3 record; their only victory came later in the "last chance" stage, where they defeated GAM Esports in a best-of-three series.

Reven is a highly experienced coach in the League of Legends esports scene, particularly within the Americas. He previously coached Flamengo in the CBLOL and Estral in the LLA, before joining the LCS in 2022 as an assistant coach for Cloud9. He subsequently became the head coach of TSM in 2023.
