Serie A – Raimondo scores a hat-trick as Frosinone defeats Sassuolo 4-2 at home.

In the 7th round of the 2026/27 Serie A season, Frosinone hosted Sassuolo at home. They ultimately defeated their opponents 4-3, and with 13 points from one game played, they are currently ranked fourth.

Sassuolo's record is now 2 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses, and they are currently ranked 11th in the league with 8 points.

From the start of the first half, both teams engaged in an attacking battle. In the 5th minute, Armand Lauriente's corner kick from the right was met by Duye Caleta-Car, whose shot inside the box failed to find the net. In the 8th minute, Giacomo Carlo delivered a precise long pass from midfield, and Fares Guedemis broke into the right side of the box before unleashing a shot that went over the crossbar. In the 9th minute, Daryl Bacora was dispossessed in his own penalty area by Patrizio Masini, and the unmarked Carlo seized the opportunity to fire a shot into the net, giving Carlos the lead. In the 15th minute, Bacora's long pass from the backfield linked up with Domenico Berardi, who then evaded the onrushing goalkeeper and slotted home to equalize.

In the 17th minute, Jorge Kvernadze received a cross from his teammate in front of the goal and chipped the ball into the net, but VAR review confirmed he was offside. In the 19th minute, Carlo delivered a precise long pass from the backfield, and Kvernadze's sudden shot from the edge of the box was caught by Ariannet Muriqui. In the 22nd minute, Muriqui's long ball found Berardi in the attacking third, and Berardi's shot from a tight angle after breaking into the box was blocked by Lorenzo Palmisani. In the 25th minute, Bacola broke through to the box and fired a low shot, which was also caught by Palmisani.

In the 26th minute, Carlo delivered a cross from the attacking third, and Antonio Raimondo slotted home to extend the lead. In the 30th minute, both Carl and Muriqui made mistakes, allowing Raimondo to capitalize and score his second goal. In the 37th minute, Sebastiano Esposito played a through ball to Cristian Solzvest, who broke into the box and slotted home to narrow the gap. At halftime, Frosinone and Sassuolo were tied 3-2.

After the break, the Canaries immediately launched an attack on Sassuolo upon entering the game. In the 57th minute, they further extended their lead: Kvernaze delivered a lobbed pass from the attacking third, and Guedemis' header inside the penalty area was saved by Muriqui. Seeing this, Raimondo promptly followed up and scored, becoming the first Frosinone player in history to score a hat-trick in Serie A.

Neither side managed to score again. At the final whistle, Frosinone secured a victory at home, taking all three points.
