American reporter: Freeman is about to return to the Timberwolves, and the two sides are expected to reach a two-way contract.

According to TA reporter Jon Krawczynski on Tuesday, Enrique Freeman is on the verge of returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is expected to receive a two-way contract and then report to the Iowa Wolves after signing.

The Timberwolves had previously waived Freeman, but decided to re-sign him after failing to find a replacement. His return also means that the Timberwolves' two-way contract roster is now full, with the remaining two players being Roko Zikalski and Zion Prin.

Freeman, 26, is a 2.03-meter tall, 100-kilogram power forward who will enter the NBA in 2024 as the 50th overall pick in the second round. In his rookie season, he played for the Indiana Pacers, appearing in 22 regular season games, averaging 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 44.4%.

In August 2025, Freeman signed a two-way contract with the Timberwolves. To date, he has only played four regular season games for the Timberwolves, averaging 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in 9.3 minutes per game.

Compared to his NBA career, Freeman's performance in the G League has been more consistent. He spent most of last season with the Iowa Timberwolves, appearing in 39 games with a 54.2% field goal percentage and a 32.6% three-point percentage.
