October 20th - According to ESPN , Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller has reached a five- year, $ 209 million contract with the team. Miller's agents, AJ Vinacchuk and Joey Middleton , confirmed the news to Shams Charania.
Miller will turn 24 next month . In the 2025-26 season, he had the best performance of his career to date, playing 65 regular-season games, averaging 20.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, with a 38.3% three-point shooting percentage . Compared to his previous season where he only played 27 games due to injury, Miller's attendance last season was significantly improved.
In the latter half of last season, Miller teamed up with then-rookie Combe Knupper to help the Hornets stage a surprising comeback, successfully qualifying for the play-in tournament, where they were eliminated in Game 2. Data shows that the Hornets had a 41-24 record when Miller played, but only a 3-14 record when he was absent .
Miller missed some time earlier this season due to a shoulder injury and underwent surgery in May to improve shoulder stability. He has now fully recovered and is playing for the Hornets in the preseason.
Miller was selected by the Hornets with the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Entering his fourth season, with the team trading away key players such as LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges , Miller is expected to take on a more significant role on the team.
