Olynyk, the former Spurs center, has officially joined Roma after a 13-year NBA career.

Italian basketball club Roma confirmed in a statement on Saturday that they have officially signed Canadian forward Kelly Olynyk. As is customary, neither side disclosed the specific length of the contract or related details.

This move to Roma also marks the temporary end of Olynyk's 13-year NBA career. According to the official announcement, he will wear jersey number 22 in Rome.

Olynyk, 35, is a traditional center standing 2.13 meters tall with a 2.08-meter wingspan. He entered the NBA in 2013 as the 13th overall pick in the first round. He has played for the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs, appearing in 842 regular season games. He averaged 9.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 21.8 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 48.6% and a three-point percentage of 36.9%.

Olynyk also played 57 playoff games, averaging 7.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 15.3 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 48.5% and a three-point percentage of 36.4%.

After the signing was completed, Roma coach Alessandro Magro said: "We are delighted with the arrival of our new signing and thank the club for facilitating this deal. He is a player who needs no introduction, with an impressive resume and multiple seasons in the NBA. He can bring his experience and abilities to the team. He understands basketball well, knows how to stretch the floor to shoot threes, and knows how to pass the ball. I believe he can quickly integrate into our tactical system and help the team from the very beginning."

Olynyk added, "I am very happy about this opportunity and my plans to join Roma. I can't wait to get to Rome, meet my new teammates, and start training with the team. I am looking forward to this new experience."
