The Philadelphia 76ers announced Saturday that they have converted Tacko Fall's existing contract into a two-way contract. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed, in accordance with team policy.
With the contract officially finalized, Fall will begin his fourth NBA season. He also becomes the last 76ers player to hold a two-way contract, joining Caleb Love and Rajon Lüper.
The 30-year-old Fall is a 2.29-meter tall, 141-kilogram Senegalese center who entered the NBA in 2019 as an undrafted player. He played three seasons for the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers, appearing in only 37 regular season games in total, averaging 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 6.2 minutes per game.
Fall also played in the G League with the Maine Red Claws and Cleveland Charge, appearing in 59 games and averaging 13.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. Since August 2022, he has played for several overseas teams, including the Ningbo Rockets, Nanjing Tongxi, New Zealand Breakers, and Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
In September of this year, Fall signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the 76ers. Although he missed the first four playoff games due to a left hip strain, the 76ers decided to make this adjustment after their originally planned backup centers, Ariel Hulkportti and Adem Boner, were both sidelined with injuries.
After completing the contract conversion of Fall, the 76ers did not slow down their pace of roster adjustments. According to beat reporter Matt Murphy, they have successively waived Chris Carroll, Taye Fields, Dillon Jones, and Jameer Nelson Jr.
