Manchester City manager Maresca revealed that Semenio will be out for eight weeks with a knee injury.

Manchester City, riding a seven-game winning streak to start the Premier League season, have been hit by injuries. Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed in a pre-Champions League press conference that winger Antoine Semenho will be sidelined for approximately eight weeks with a knee injury, while striker Erling Haaland is recovering well from a minor injury and is expected to be included in the European squad.

Semenio suffered a knee injury late in the 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town and had to leave the field. A medical scan completed on Sunday provided a definitive diagnosis. Regarding injuries within the team, Maresca stated, "The rest of the players are generally fine; the only one who might be out for eight weeks is Antoine."

“Initially we thought the injury would be more serious, so we were more worried. Yesterday’s scan results reassured us a lot; the situation isn’t as bad as we thought. Now the most important thing for him is recovery, and when he returns around December, he will be as energetic as a new signing.”

Semenio's injury has impacted our attacking rotation, as he was previously considered one of the backup options for the starting center forward. Maresca stated frankly, "Losing Antoine is definitely not good for us. We considered having him play as a makeshift number nine, but we have other players with different technical characteristics, and we will look for new solutions."

"However, right now, Erling is still our first choice. As long as Erling is on the court, why should we be distracted by thinking about other number nines? We'll make plans if we encounter any unexpected situations that require adjustments."

Regarding Haaland's minor injury after scoring twice on Saturday, Maresca brought good news, not ruling out his possibility of playing in Tuesday night's home game against AEK Athens: "He may be able to play, we will observe further."

“We had some concerns after Sunday’s game, but he was in pretty good form yesterday and things have improved. Replacing Erling is always difficult, and the final decision depends on the tactical deployment. He is definitely a possibility to play tomorrow.”
