Curry is recovering well from a sprained right ankle and the Warriors expect him to play in the season opener.

October 20th - According to ESPN , the Warriors expect Stephen Curry to be available for Wednesday's season opener against the Lakers. Curry sprained his right ankle during a scrimmage on Sunday afternoon.

It is reported that Curry participated in the entire practice on Monday morning. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr revealed that Curry told him he was " fine " shortly after leaving the court with his injury . Previously, Curry twisted his right ankle while driving to the basket during an intra-squad scrimmage on Sunday.

After a night's rest, Curry's ankle is recovering well, and the medical team has cleared him to continue pre-season training. If he performs well in Tuesday's training, Curry is expected to play in Wednesday's Warriors' season opener against the Lakers.

Curry will turn 39 next March . Last season, a persistent right knee problem forced him to miss 27 games. To better manage his physical condition, he readjusted his daily training and recovery plan during the offseason. The Warriors also carefully controlled his playing time during the preseason, and Kerr stated that the team will appropriately reduce Curry's training volume in the new season to lessen the burden on his body.

Currently, the Warriors are also facing the absence of several key players. Moses Mudy and Jimmy Butler III are both undergoing rehabilitation for serious knee injuries and are expected to return midway through the season. Starting center Kristaps Porzingis is out indefinitely due to personal health issues.
