Luka Doncic sent a packaged letter to Lakers fans, promising to give his all in the championship race and "never let up."

With LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers in the offseason, Luka Doncic has officially established himself as the undisputed new leader of the Los Angeles Lakers.

On the eve of the new season, Doncic published a full-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times, writing a heartfelt letter to fans and promising that the team would make a strong push for the championship.

"From the moment I arrived in Los Angeles, you welcomed me with open arms," Doncic wrote in his open letter. "So this is my promise to you: every night, we will give it our all. No excuses, no slackening."

Facing the upcoming season, the six-time All-Star player directly called on fans to fight alongside him: "You are the best fans in the world, and we need you. In every game, please give it your all with us."

Last season, the Lakers finished fourth in the Western Conference with a record of 53 wins and 29 losses, but Luka Doncic missed the end of the regular season and the playoffs due to a hamstring injury, and the team was eliminated in the second round.

This summer, with LeBron James leaving the team, the Lakers completely rebuilt their roster, bringing in strong new additions such as Walker Kessler, Collin Sexton, Sandro Mamukhrashvili, and Zaire Williams.

The Lakers have only advanced past the first round of the playoffs twice in the past six seasons, and their last championship was in 2020. Doncic is well aware of the team's rich history: "Everyone understands what it means to wear this purple and gold jersey."
