Russian coach Shalfey has officially joined GamerLegion and will replace Snax in the starting lineup.

European CS2 powerhouse GamerLegion announced on Wednesday the official signing of free agent Alexander Malenov (ID: shalfey). All indications suggest he will replace Janush Pogozhelsky (ID: Snax) as the team's in-game leader.

For GamerLegion, this adjustment aims to reverse the team's recent slump. After finishing last in the closed qualifiers for the 2027 PGL Bucharest, they have almost completely lost their chance to qualify for the 2026 PGL Singapore Major.

Shalfey, 24, is from Russia and has played for several CS teams during his professional career, including PUGSTAR5, OwmS, Dracarys, EXTREMUM, Unique, FORZE, 9Pandas, M1X, and Nemiga. He has been competing online with ex-RUSTEC for the past two months, during which time he has achieved an average rating of 1.15.

According to the schedule, shalfey will make his debut for GamerLegion at the RLG Tesla Cup next week. With shalfey's arrival, GamerLegion's current roster is tentatively set as follows:

Rifleman/Sniper: Frederick Sterner (ID: REZ)

Rifleman: Sebastian Tauson Lindelof (ID: Tauson)

Breakthrough player: Timur Malev (ID: FL4MUS)

Sniper: Milan Polowitz (ID: hypex)

Commander: Alexander Malenov (ID: shalfey)

Head Coach: Adrian Piper (ID: imd)
