Borussia Dortmund secured a late 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday, on Matchday 7 of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season.

In the first half, a shot by Daniel Svensson took a deflection and struck the crossbar, while both Guirassy and Ebnoutalib missed golden opportunities to score. The decisive moment arrived in the second half when Beier fired home a powerful shot. Dortmund ultimately claimed a 1-0 win. Following this round of matches, BVB have temporarily moved to the top of the table with 17 points, while Die Adler have slipped to 13th place with 8 points.

First Half

In the 15th minute, Dortmund launched a quick counterattack. Joey Veerman passes horizontally from the right wing. Serhou Guirassy quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before taking a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Noah Atubolu.

3 minutes later, Dortmund lauched a quick counterattack again. counter again. After winning the ball, Fábio Silva intercepted the ball and passes passes horizontally from the right wing. Guirassy quickly followed up, got the ball and dribbled into the center of the box before attempting to chip the outrushing Atubolu with a right-footed shot, but his shot somehow was managed to be saved by the latter. Dortmund missed the golden opportunity to break the deadlock early on!

In the 27th minute, Noël Aséko made a straight pass from the front. Jonathan Burkardt got the ball and took a few steps before taking a left-footed long shot from just outside of the penalty area, but his shot went just slightly wide of the bottom right corner of the post.

4 minutes later, Julian Ryerson crossed ball into the box from the right wing. Daniel Svensson stopped the ball before taking a lef-footed half-volley from the left side of the box. His shot was deflected off Nnamdi Collins and strucked the crossbar before bouncing off! 

In the 33rd minute, Felix Nmecha made a clearance error inside his own penalty area. Younes Ebnoutalib intercepted the ball and took a few steps before striking the ball with a right-footed shot towards the outrushing Gregor Kobel, however, as the effort lacked power, it was easily saved by the latter. This time it was Frankfurt who missed the golden opportunity to break the deadlock first!

In the first minute of first-half stoppage time, Borussia Dortmund earned a corner kick opportunity. Julian Ryerson played it short as a tactical corner. Felix Nmecha got the ball, cuts inside and  took a few steps before volleying with his left foot shot at a diffcult angle from the byline at the right side of the box, but his shot was saved by Atubolu.

The first half ended with both Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt deadlocked at 0-0 as they headed into the break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 46th minute, Elias Baum passes horizontally from the left wing. Farès Chaïbi got the ball, cuts inside and took a few steps before taking a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was tipped over the crossbar by Kobel with a one-handed save.

8 minutes later, Burkardt passes horizontally from the left wing. Chaïbi got the ball and dribbled into the left side of the box before volleying with his left foot, but his shot that was held onto by Kobel.

In the 69th minute, Carney Chukwuemeka made a straight pass from the right wing. Ethan Nwaneri stopped the ball with his back to the goal and turned around before volleying with his left foot, but his shot was saved by Atubolu.

In the 80th minute, Jobe Bellingham passes horizontally from the left wing. Maximilian Beier stopped the ball before taking a powerful right-footed strike from the left side of the box, sending the ball straight into the top-right corner of the net which Atubolu could not save. Borussia Dortmund finally broke the deadlock to take a 1-0 lead!

When the final whistle is blown, Borussia Dortmund secured a last-gasp 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
