Nottingham Forest will host defending champions Arsenal in the next round of the Premier League. In an interview, Glasner stated that his team needs to remain calm and patient in their pursuit of goals, and urged the players not to let negative emotions affect their performance.
In the sixth round of the league, Nottingham Forest lost 1-3 to Crystal Palace after Ndoye scored just 3 minutes into the game, but then conceded goals in succession.
After suffering two consecutive defeats, Nottingham Forest are currently 17th in the standings with 5 points, and have only scored 5 goals in 6 rounds of matches.
Nottingham Forest manager Glasner said, "I was explaining to the team how we were going to handle the next game, and Chris Wood was standing next to me, so I gave him the floor because he has scored nearly 200 goals in English football, 92 of which came in the Premier League."
"Who is more qualified to talk about how to score goals than Chris Wood? After all, I have never scored in the Premier League myself, and I have only scored 20 goals in my entire career. I really like the message he conveys. He said never lose confidence in your abilities, and I agree with that. He also said that the next chance will come at any time, and that is exactly what happened. Just wait for the next chance to come, and then seize the opportunity and put the ball in the net."
Speaking about the pressure he faces as Nottingham Forest manager, Glasner said, "It would be foolish of me not to utilize the team's existing experience and strength. We all want to succeed, our goals are completely aligned, and we always stand together, but a manager can't always find answers to all problems."
"That's how a team operates. Everyone supports each other by offering suggestions, sharing experiences, and sometimes even pushing each other. Then the head coach and coaching staff are responsible for guiding everyone and telling everyone which direction we should be heading."
Reflecting on the previous performance against Crystal Palace, Glasner said, "We pressed high and made good transitions after losing possession. We created chances and posed a big threat from set pieces, but we lacked something at crucial moments. If you keep missing chances and those things start to affect the players' mentality, then we all know that problems will follow. That's why we can't treat this as a serious problem, because it's part of the game."
"In this situation, it is very important to stay calm. I would be worried if we couldn't create any chances at all, or if the opponent was able to get a lot of scoring opportunities, but the situation is quite the opposite now."
Furthermore, Nottingham Forest have only managed two draws and three losses in their last five encounters with Arsenal. Glasner stated, "Arsenal have covered more ground than their opponents in every game this season. As the defending champions, they often have 60% or even 70% possession, and they run more than their opponents because every player puts in tremendous effort. This is the greatest praise for Arteta."
"However, I am also very confident that we can create two to four good chances. The key next step is to improve efficiency and convert those chances into goals."
