Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended for 30 days and fined by the Portuguese Football Federation.

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has officially announced that captain Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7) has been suspended for 30 days and fined €255 for leaving the national team training camp without permission last month.

The incident stemmed from the UEFA Nations League in September of this year. Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, did not get a chance to play in the match against Norway, and after learning that he would not start against Denmark either, he decided to leave the team.

Cristiano Ronaldo subsequently published a lengthy statement accusing national team coach Jorge Jesus of twice breaking promises and undermining mutual trust. Jesus denied ever making any agreement with the players regarding playing time.

The Portuguese Football Federation's disciplinary committee stated that the decision to impose the penalty took into account Cristiano Ronaldo's subsequent public apology and willingness to admit his mistake, as well as his submitted resume of career achievements and his long-term dedication to the national team.

The suspension takes effect from October 1st against Denmark. Since he has already served his 19-day ban and the national team's next match is scheduled for mid-November, Ronaldo will not actually miss the subsequent UEFA Nations League matches against Denmark and Wales.

Currently, the Portuguese national team is open to the legendary striker's return. Head coach Gabriel Jesus stated that the process for his return remains open, and the Portuguese Football Federation president, Pedro Proenza, has also publicly stated that once the disciplinary proceedings are complete, the federation strongly hopes that Ronaldo will return to the national team jersey.
