Hayden Hackney admitted that he is very much looking forward to the upcoming match against Arsenal and is eager for the opportunity to showcase his skills on the pitch.

Everton midfielder Hayden Hackney has revealed that there are two matches he is particularly looking forward to in the 2026/27 season. Since joining Everton from Middlesbrough this summer, the player has made six Premier League appearances for the club, earning attention for his consistent and impressive performances.

Hayden Hackney has been a Middlesbrough supporter since childhood and has a deep affection for the club. He was developed through Middlesbrough's youth academy and played for the Riverside Stadium for five seasons. His outstanding performance last season earned him the Championship Player of the Season award.

Speaking about his decision to transfer from Middlesbrough to Everton, Hayden Hackney said: "I feel this transfer is a perfect fit for me. There is a lot in common between Everton and Middlesbrough, and both cities have a deep working-class culture."

"The fan culture here is very similar to Middlesbrough's, and Everton itself is a club with a rich history and great influence. I think the team is welcoming a new generation of players and also has a brand new stadium. This is undoubtedly a hopeful and exciting time, and I really hope to be a part of it."

For the 24-year-old midfielder, the Merseyside derby against Liverpool next month and the Boxing Day match against former regional rivals Sunderland are two games he is really looking forward to.

Hayden Hackney said: “I believe the match against Sunderland will be very exciting, and I’m really looking forward to playing in it. Also, I’m excited about the Liverpool derby. I’ve often watched these games on TV and experienced the atmosphere in person, so this is another match I’m eager to play in. Frankly, I’ve almost never missed one of these kinds of games. It’s a fantastic match, and I really hope to have the opportunity to play in it myself.”
