Champions League – Manchester United lost 1-4 to Como away from home, with Paz contributing two goals and one assist.

In the third round of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League, Manchester United traveled to Como to face them. They ultimately suffered a shock 1-4 defeat, extending their winless streak to seven games across all competitions.

Just two minutes into the game, Manchester United conceded a goal: Lucas da Cunha cut inside from the right and delivered a cross, which Nico Paz controlled on the edge of the box before curling a shot into the net. In the 17th minute, Brian Mbourne delivered a cross from the right at a 45-degree angle, but Harry Maguire's header inside the box failed to find the target.

After that, Como created several more scoring opportunities. In the 35th minute, Martin Battulina delivered a long pass from midfield, and Tasos Duvikas broke into the left side of the penalty area and unleashed a shot that was saved by Senne Lamens. In the 43rd minute, Luis Milla crossed from the right wing, and Battulina's shot from the edge of the box was again blocked by Lamens.

After the break, Como continued to dominate against Manchester United. In the 49th minute, Paz delivered a precise through ball, and Duvikas followed up with a chip shot that sailed over Ramons' outstretched arms. In the 57th minute, Paz dispossessed Carlos Baleba and broke into the penalty area before slotting the ball home to make it 3-0. In the 76th minute, Kegi Bruno crossed from the left side of the penalty area, and Hakovo Ramon headed the ball into the net at the far post. In the 78th minute, Duvikas delivered a cross from the edge of the penalty area, and Paz's low shot was saved by Ramons.

In the first minute of second-half stoppage time, Manchester United finally pulled one back: Ahmad Diallo delivered a lobbed pass, and Joshua Zirkzee controlled the ball in the penalty area before slotting it into the net. At the final whistle, Como secured a resounding 4-1 victory at home, taking all three points.
