Manuel Baum: We need to adjust our strategy based on the opponent's style of play, while making full use of our own strengths.

Augsburg is about to face a busy week with three important matches. First, they will host Union Berlin at the WWK Arena this week, followed by a midweek away game against Sannenhof and Sørgersbach in the German Cup, and finally, they will return home next Saturday to face Freiburg.

After a high-scoring match against Elfsberger that ended in a heartbreaking 3-4 defeat, Augsburg are eager to bounce back and get back on track. Despite the loss, they remain 10th in the Bundesliga standings. Union Berlin, currently 17th, have kept clean sheets in their last two matches and will bring a strong defensive record to Augsburg.

Ahead of the seventh round of the Bundesliga, Augsburg coach Manuel Baum pointed out that the team still has several areas to improve, the most important of which is enhancing consistency during matches. Baum stated, "We have been working hard to improve these issues, and we hope the team can show a more consistent performance throughout the 90 minutes of the game."

“Our matches are usually very exciting because there are often many eye-catching moments on the field. However, in terms of overall performance, we made the match against Elfsberg too unpredictable.”

Augsburg has scored 16 goals in the Bundesliga so far, tied for second place in the attacking power rankings with Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig. Facing Union Berlin, a team known for its intensity and physical play, Augsburg coach Manuel Baum anticipates a challenging match.

He added, "Union Berlin is a physically strong and tenacious team, and they pose a significant threat from set pieces. We need to develop strategies to counter their strengths while also finding ways to leverage our own advantages."
