Jean-Philippe Mateta: We will carefully review this match and continue the team's good performance on the field.

Jean-Philippe Mateta finally got another chance to start after the first round of matches this season, and scored his first goal since the UEFA final. However, the most regrettable thing for him was that this goal was not enough to help Crystal Palace win the game and secure three points.

After the match, Jean-Philippe Mateta admitted: "I am always genuinely happy when I score a goal. However, it would be even more perfect if the team could also win. I think the whole team gave their best effort today, hoping to win this game. But that's often how football is; once you leave an opening for the opponent, they may seize it. Besiktas is a strong team, and they successfully scored today."

"However, in my opinion, we originally had the opportunity to achieve a better result. The whole team put in a tremendous effort today and showed a positive attitude. Unfortunately, the two sides ended in a draw, and we can only accept the result."

"The team once again demonstrated the offensive pressure that should be present in the game, and the whole team played very strongly today. As I mentioned before, we only gave the opponent two chances, but they successfully turned both into threats."

Jean-Philippe Mateta also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Crystal Palace fans. During the team's three consecutive away games, the supporters remained steadfast in their support. This weekend, Crystal Palace will return to Selhurst Park to host Newcastle United.

He continued, "During today's match, I tried my best to communicate with the fans in the stands and share the joy of football with them. The fans' support is crucial to the entire team, and I look forward to them continuing to follow us to away games and cheer for the team. I believe that with everyone's joint efforts, the team will achieve more victories, and the fans will witness these celebratory moments."

“We will carefully review this game, continue to build on the advantages the team showed on the field, and carry on these positive factors. I believe the game this weekend will be very exciting.”
