Harry Kane, winning his first Ballon d'Or: I wouldn't be where I am today without Tottenham.

The highly anticipated Ballon d'Or 2026 awards ceremony was held in London, where England star Harry Kane won his first Ballon d'Or despite fierce competition. Besides expressing gratitude to Bayern Munich for their support, Kane also thanked his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, for their years of nurturing and support.

Harry Kane, who played for Tottenham Hotspur for more than 10 years, scored 213 goals in the Premier League and won the Premier League Golden Boot three times, but he always missed out on the championship.

In August 2023, Kane transferred to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and finally won his first professional title in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season.

In the 2025/26 season, the 33-year-old Kane won the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the German Super Cup for Bayern Munich, and won the German Footballer of the Year and the European Golden Boot with his outstanding goal-scoring record.

In addition, Kane contributed 6 goals for England at the 2026 World Cup and helped the Three Lions win third place.

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane said in an interview, "I want to thank Tottenham Hotspur. I can say with certainty that I wouldn't be who I am today without Tottenham Hotspur. I've been there since I was 11 years old. The guidance from the club and the help from the coaches have given me the opportunity to realize my dreams."

"We've been through a lot together, with highs and lows, and it's these experiences that have made me who I am today. So I want to express my gratitude to Tottenham Hotspur."

Kane also said, "I would also like to give special thanks to the coaches who have helped me along the way. If I have missed anyone, I am really sorry."

“Let’s start with the early coaches: Bradley Allen, Chris Ramsey, John McDermott, Alex Inglethorpe, Tim Sherwood, and Ryan Mason, who’s here today and is one of my best friends.”
