Maguire hopes Manchester United can regain their confidence and bounce back.

Manchester United suffered a humiliating 0-3 defeat to Bournemouth in the eighth round of the Premier League, conceding goals in both halves. Maguire stated that he hopes the team can rebuild their confidence and belief through training this week.

In the 38th minute, Kluivert took a free kick, and Rayan volleyed it into the net, giving Bournemouth a 1-0 lead. In the 43rd minute, Joro slipped while attempting a clearance, Adrian Truffaut regained possession and passed the ball diagonally, where Taffonier slotted it home, extending Bournemouth's lead over Manchester United to 2-0.

In the 71st minute of the second half, Manchester United goalkeeper Lamens was unable to clear the ball when he came out to challenge for it. Evanilson then received the ball and chipped it into the empty net from the right wing, helping Bournemouth extend their lead to 3-0.

Manchester United were ultimately defeated 0-3 by Bournemouth at Old Trafford. After losing three points, United now sit 16th in the league table with seven points. Although only eight Premier League matches have been played this season, United remain in a precarious position in their fight for European qualification.

Speaking about the team's conceded goal, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire said, "We can't just give away a goal because of a slip. The third goal was definitely affected by the wind, but the first goal should be the focus."

“We couldn’t even defend the most basic set-piece attacks. We can discuss the situation with Yoro and Lamenz in the second and third goals, but the most crucial one is the first goal. We did a far from good enough job defending that set-piece.”

It is worth noting that Manchester United have failed to win in their last eight matches across all competitions, including a poor performance in the Champions League and being eliminated by Brighton in the third round of the English League Cup.

Facing the current winless slump, Maguire said, "When the team is in a difficult situation and can't get the desired results, we have to grit our teeth and do the basics right. Defending set pieces is an indispensable part of the game, and we haven't performed well in this aspect this season."

“We must put in more effort and make greater improvements. Last week against Leeds United, we failed to secure all three points due to set pieces, and the same thing happened against Hull City. In this game, we should focus more on the first goal we conceded, and we must perform better.”

On the other hand, Manchester United will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the next round of the Premier League. Since they don't have a League Cup match this week, the "Red Devils" have more time to dedicate to training.

Maguire also said, "After such a crushing defeat, you're eager to get back on the court as soon as possible. Hopefully, we can have a good week to change the team's mindset, confidence, and belief, and bounce back."

"The good news right now is that the season is still in its early stages, and we still have many goals to achieve and many points to gain. We have every opportunity to have a good season, but only if we make progress and put in more effort."
