In the first half, Hamburg squandered several promising scoring opportunities. After the break, Koch opened the scoring with a header, followed by goals from Burkardt and Ebnoutalib. Although Moffi managed to reduce the deficit with a close-range follow-up finish, it came too late to change the outcome, while a long-range effort from Uzun rattled the crossbar. Ultimately, Frankfurt emerged as 3-1 winners.

Grønbæk followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before striking the ball with his right foot against the outrushing Atubolu from a very close distance of the box, but his shot somehow went wide of the bottom right corner of the post, denying Hamburg a golden opportunity to break the deadlock first!
In the 43rd minute, Shafiq Nandja crossed from the right side of the box. 9 minutes later, Hamburg earned a corner kick opportunity.
