Álvaro Arbeloa admitted that the team must face this defeat squarely and learn from it.

Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa admitted that the team still needs to address several issues following their League Cup defeat to Crystal Palace. Despite controlling more of the game, Fulham failed to convert their dominance into sufficient attacking threat, ultimately conceding a decisive counter-attack to Crystal Palace from southeast London. This marks the second time this season that Fulham has suffered a similar defeat.

At the start of the post-match press conference, Álvaro Arbeloa first offered his condolences and sympathies to those affected by the train accident that occurred in his hometown of Spain earlier that day, before addressing the team's performance in the game. He stated, "It was just the same story repeated itself on another day. I think our opponents were always waiting for us to make mistakes, and ultimately they capitalized on those opportunities."

“I think the team could have performed better. Even when we had possession, against a team that lays deep in defense, we had to speed up the passing, increase our off-the-ball movement, and improve the quality of our final pass. I think we need to make more use of the flanks to launch attacks, while also being patient and figuring out what kind of attacking strategy to use against opponents like Crystal Palace.”

"The opponent's defensive setup was very tight, and they successfully defended their own defensive zone. However, just like some of the matches we have experienced before, this defeat is also worth our serious analysis. In this league, there are many teams that are good at waiting for the opponent to make mistakes before launching an attack. Therefore, when facing such opponents, we must be calmer and more patient, while improving the quality of our ball control and always being aware of the potential dangers that may arise during the transition between attack and defense."

"The key to our victories in the previous two matches was limiting our opponents' attacking opportunities and keeping a clean sheet. A few days ago against Coventry, we didn't create a chance until the 80th minute. For me, this is exactly the way the team should play."

"It was a disappointing night for everyone. As the team's head coach, I couldn't hide my disappointment either, because I know very well how important this game was to the club and the fans. Right now, the most important thing is for the whole team to quickly learn from this defeat."
