BLG swept HLE in two straight games, securing their place in the quarterfinals.

In the final round of the Swiss round of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship, LPL's second seed Bilibili Gaming (BLG) defeated LCK's second seed Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) 2-0, securing the last ticket to the knockout stage.

This victory not only avenged BLG's loss in this year's MSI finals, but also eliminated the newly crowned MSI champions, HLE.

The first game was fiercely contested, with the score and economy tied multiple times. In the mid-to-late game, although HLE killed Baron Nashor and broke through BLG's high ground, in a crucial dragon team fight, BLG's jungler Xun and mid laner Knight coordinated to disrupt the opponent's positioning, wiped out HLE, and completed a counterattack. In the end, they won the first game in the 41st minute with a kill score of 19 to 18.

In the second game, BLG opted for a strong early-game lineup, opening up the game from the top lane and completely dominating their opponents. In the mid-to-late game, BLG secured the Mountain Dragon Soul, extending their gold lead to over 10,000. HLE's defenses crumbled, and BLG destroyed the enemy crystal in the 32nd minute with a commanding 14-3 kill score, securing the final victory.

This match changed the records of both teams. BLG advanced to the quarterfinals, while HLE was eliminated in the Swiss rounds, ultimately finishing 9th to 11th. This is also the first time in the history of League of Legends esports that a former MSI champion has failed to advance to the knockout stage of the same year's World Championship.
