Klay Thompson on his resurgence: "I knew this kind of night would come eventually."

The Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers 145-125 on Friday, with veteran Klay Thompson showing a strong comeback.

Thompson hit five three-pointers in just seven minutes in the third quarter, and made seven of 12 three-point attempts in the game. This not only ended his slump at the beginning of the season, but also marked the 54th time in his regular season career that he had made at least seven three-pointers in a single game. His three-point shooting percentage subsequently rose to 39%.

In a post-game interview, Thompson discussed his ups and downs and adjustments at the start of the season: "The start of the season was certainly not ideal. But being able to play calmly and confidently on the court, I knew I would eventually have a night like this."

This victory comes as the Heat are about to embark on a five-game road trip, with the first four games to be played in California, a place Thompson loves, marking his return to familiar territory after a long absence.

“I love going to Los Angeles to see my parents, brothers, and my little niece and nephew,” Thompson said excitedly about the upcoming trip. “Then I’ll drive along the interstate to the Bay Area, where I have irreplaceable memories.”

Speaking of his upcoming rivals and old friends, Thompson still showed a strong desire to win: "I will see many of my childhood friends, and I am extremely eager to beat them. Although we are all in our thirties, we are still very competitive. I enjoy competing with them because they are my best friends."

“I can’t wait to go back and see those familiar faces. Not just the players, but also the trainers, equipment managers, stadium staff, and cleaners. I have lifelong friends in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and going back there will always be special for me.”
