American reporter: Warriors have no intention of trading Butler for Davis or Brown this summer.

According to ESPN's Anthony Slater on Friday, the Golden State Warriors have no intention of trading 37-year-old Jimmy Butler this summer. All indications suggest they are unwilling to sacrifice Butler and draft picks for any potential trade.

Jimmy Butler has been sidelined since January due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. If all goes well, he is expected to return to play between January and February 2027.

With injuries still lingering and his contract nearing its end, Butler has been frequently linked with trade rumors this summer. To date, his name has been linked with numerous stars, including Anthony Davis, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and Trey Murphy.

However, Slater has now denied rumors that the Warriors might trade Butler for Davis and Brown. In his report, he explicitly stated that considering the required draft picks and the contracts of both players, the Warriors have not shown any interest in pursuing such a trade this summer. As for other potential trades involving Butler and draft picks, the Warriors will reject any such trades if management believes the target player's value is less than that of a healthy Butler.

Jimmy Butler is a 6'3" (1.98m) and 104kg (5.5kg) forward who entered the NBA in 2011 as the 30th overall pick in the first round. He played for the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, and Miami Heat, appearing in 839 regular season games. He averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.6 steals in 33.1 minutes per game, and won numerous individual accolades, including six NBA All-Star selections and a steals title.

Butler also played 119 playoff games, averaging 21.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.7 steals in 37.9 minutes per game. His most representative playoff achievement is undoubtedly leading the Heat to the NBA Finals twice.

In February 2025, Butler was traded to the Warriors in a five-team deal. To date, he has played 68 regular season games for the Warriors, averaging 19.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 31.8 minutes per game.
