Chelsea striker Emega, returning from injury, is expected to be included in the matchday squad.

Chelsea will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in a key fourth-round match of the English League Cup. Xabi Alonso has stated that striker Unai Emega, who has recovered from injury, has been training actively and is expected to be included in the squad for this match.

Emega, 23, officially joined Chelsea in July of this year, but has yet to make a match for the "Blues" due to injury problems.

With João Pedro sidelined for a period due to a thigh injury, Chelsea will need to make some adjustments to their attacking options.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso said, "It is very important that Emega is back and available to us because he has very special abilities."

"He needs to make sure his physical condition has fully recovered, and he has been actively participating in training for the past two weeks or so, or at least the last ten days, which has allowed him to build a solid physical foundation. Next, we need to continue to observe his condition, and perhaps he will have the opportunity to play tomorrow."

Xabi Alonso pointed out, "Besides the traditional center forward, we have other players who can also play this position. We need to find the right balance between each player's strengths and how they cooperate with their teammates."

“We tried to get Morgan Rogers closer to Palmer’s running position, and sometimes we need to be creative, try different arrangements, and see if they work.”

In addition, Xabi Alonso said, "I will evaluate all available options, including our training schedule this week, as well as the characteristics of each player, and then select the most suitable lineup for each game. This was the case for last week's game, and it will be the same for tomorrow's game."
