Europa League – Kramaric scores two assists and one goal, Hoffenheim secures a 3-0 home victory over Lyon.

In the third round of the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League league stage, Hoffenheim hosted Lyon at home. They ultimately won 3-0, securing their first European victory of the season.

Both teams traded attacks early on but failed to convert their chances into goals. In the 3rd minute, Oliver Baumann launched a long ball forward, linking up with Adam Dajm in the attacking third, whose shot was saved by Dominique Grave. In the 10th minute, Tim Renperer's header clearance in the box went awry, and Nakamura Keito's subsequent shot was blocked by Baumann. In the 13th minute, Mats Roots' corner kick from the right was met by Alexander Plass, whose shot was brilliantly saved by Grave.

In the 20th minute, Vladimir Cousfar took a corner kick from the left, and Dardim and Robin Hranac's headers were unsuccessful. In the 71st minute, Wouter Berg delivered a brilliant backheel pass, and Kramaric's curling shot inside the penalty area went straight into Greif's arms. In the 74th minute, Valentin Gendre delivered a precise long pass from the back, and Adam Hrogjek's shot from inside the penalty area went wide of the left. In the 81st minute, Kramaric's corner kick from the left was headed over the crossbar by Hranac at the near post.

In the 83rd minute, Kramaric passed the ball back inside the penalty area, and Hrožek followed up with a low shot that went straight through Greif's outstretched hands. Neither side managed to score again, and the final score remained 3-0.
