Counter Strike 2: NAVI's In-Game Leader Aleksib has received a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of aggravated tax fraud..

Dust2, citing local Finnish media and reported on Wednesday that NAVI's Counter Strike 2 team In-Game Leader Aleksib, has been convicted of aggravated tax fraud. He received a four-month suspended prison sentence with a two-year probation.

According to the report, an investigation by the Finnish Tax Administration into a 2019 tax filing revealed that Aleksib had knowingly concealed and failed to declare over €53,000 in revenue, derived from his share of Valve's in-game sticker sales, resulting in approximately €28,000 in unpaid taxes.

Aleksib denied any intentional tax evasion, claiming he was unfamiliar with tax-related matters. He also noted that he paid the outstanding taxes in full after being notified by the Finnish tax authorities. However, the court did not accept his defense.

The court concluded that it was implausible for Aleksib to have overlooked the absence of this income and the corresponding withheld taxes on his pre-filled tax return. Consequently, the court adopted the prosecution’s sentencing recommendation of a four-month suspended prison term, subject to a two-year probation.

Dust2 further added that while Aleksib has avoided actual incarceration, his conviction, and the resulting criminal record, may complicate future visa applications and international travel. This follows earlier reports from outlets such as HLTV that had already hinted at his allegations of tax evasion.

Prior to this, Aleksib had traveled to eleven different countries this year alone to compete on behalf of NAVI. While most of these destinations are within the Schengen Area, entry requirements for countries like the United States can be significantly more complex for individuals with a criminal record.
